Guide to inclusive communication

Publication | Published at: November 08 2023

As part of its Voluntary Cooperation Program, CECI has developed an Inclusive Communication Guide. Its aim is to guide and support the work of all CECI teams, partners and anyone interested in the subject, in the use of more inclusive communication practices. With this guide, CECI wishes to ensure that its communications are more inclusive and in line with its values, to contribute to greater representativeness and to reflect the diversity of the communities with which it collaborates.

It is the result of a collaborative process involving all CECI's Volunteer Cooperation Program teams, and is intended for all staff, volunteers and partners. This tool is part of an evolutionary perspective of positive and egalitarian transformations taking place in a decolonial international context.

With this guide, CECI commits itself to an institutional commitment to equality and to transforming its practices in a perspective of inclusion and decolonization. This tool responds to our firm conviction to recognize the many variables that can complicate the discrimination faced by many social groups, and to act in favor of positive social transformations. For CECI, inclusion is essential in all its activities. This tool is intended to be a global vector of positive transformation, and a posture of adaptation is required in certain contexts.

A special mention to our strategic partner, Equitas, for its consulting support throughout the process.

This guide was produced as part of CECI's Volunteer Cooperation Program, funded by the Government of Canada.
