From 2005 to 2020, the number of people living below the poverty line in Bolivia was cut in half. But while the country may be experiencing a sustained growth rate, young people and women still struggle to access rewarding, sustainable economic opportunities.

The Bolivian economy still depends largely on the exploitation of natural resources, despite the country’s other major assets, such as a dynamic youth population, a rich culture and diverse landscapes – all of which could be leveraged for more sustainable, inclusive development. By focusing on these assets and teaming up with local strategic partners to maximize impact, CECI improved living conditions in some of the most marginalized communities in the La Paz region.
