Event | December 09 2021 | Canada

You are invited to the event Global Resiliency and Volunteerism - A Celebration on Thursday, December 9, 2021 to contribute to the dialogue on the impact of international volunteering.

This collective activity will count on expert speakers on international cooperation (professors, NGO leaders, AMC employees) and international volunteers who will speak on various themes such as the flexibility measures implemented by AMC, gender equality and justice, the decolonization of international aid and its localization, citizen participation, communication and the environment and will take place in two parts:

1. A panel discussion from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with international development experts on the issues affecting the most vulnerable and the challenges, but also the new opportunities following the pandemic of COVID-19. During this event, the new Minister of International Development, the Honourable Harjit Sajjan, will share his vision for volunteer cooperation.

Registration

2. A friendly chat with volunteers from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., under the "Human Library" formula to learn about their experiences around three different topics

  • Gender equality: the impact of the pandemic on women and young women
  • Capacity building of vulnerable populations through local initiatives
  • Climate action and the role of volunteers in advancing change.

Come hear their stories, their visions on emerging issues in international cooperation, the issues and challenges raised since the pandemic and how international volunteering is playing a dominant role. Don't miss this opportunity to exchange with them; the world of international development is undergoing a revolution!
