Support of Mother and Infants in Northern Haiti

In Haiti, 67 infants out of 1,000 die before the age of 5, compared to only five in Canada. It is one of the countries most affected by maternal and child mortality. In response, CECI and its partners have set up, with financial support from the Government of Canada, a project in Northern Haiti to provide better access to health care for mothers and local children.

The project has several activities including:

  • Construction and renovation of health centers;
  • improving medical services for mothers and children;
  • training and capacity building of health workers;
  • medical equipment;
  • community awareness and mobilization.

The success of the work undertaken by CECI and its partners, as well as by local Haitian communities, will be made possible thanks to your support.
